Practices are easy to learn and include meditation, autogenic training, biofeedback, creative expression, movement, and guided imagery.
Disaster Recovery and Resiliency
MBCLA responds during times of crisis to communities recovering from man-made or natural disasters by providing opportunities for groups and individuals to reduce stress, depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD); increase resilience; and restore sense of community.
Freedom from Violence
MBCLA provides services to communities plagued by the chronic effects of violence and poverty to promote a sense of safety and decrease isolation, depression, anxiety, and PTSD, and help restore a sense of safety.
MBCLA offers a specialized curriculum for children and teens in school-based and community settings to promote school readiness, improve self-regulation, and teach children kindness and compassion.
Addictive Behaviors Relapse Prevention
MBCLA offers health care provider trainings and community groups and workshops designed to teach researched based mind-body skills and practical cognitive behavioral skills that lower the risk of turning to harmful coping behaviors.
MBCLA works with organizations to promote safety and stress reduction by integrating mindfulness and other mind-body skills into the workplace culture.
MBCLA teaches the concepts of mind-body medicine and mind-body skills to a variety of health and mental healthcare providers including medical students, physicians, nurses, social workers, counselors, case managers and peer support counselors
